Standardized test (like Griffiths) may be necessary for some children.
If your child's issues are complex, the initial visits are taken up with history taking and the doctor may not draw any conclusions, or discuss any management until subsequent visits. From these consultations, the doctor will write a letter summarising the information, conclusions and management plan. The report will only be sent to legal guardian by email besides the referring Practitioner.
Diagnosis of complex neurodevelopmental conditions relies on comprehensive history and excluding other medical conditions and assessing for comorbidities. There is no single tool or test available for diagnosis of these conditions. Experience, training and knowledge of the Developmental Paediatrician is crucial in management of your child.
